What's New for 2025
Federal Tax Rate Changes
The Government of Canada has reduced the lowest federal income tax rate effective July 1, 2025. This change affects calculations for pay periods starting July 1, 2025 or later.
New lowest rate: 14.5% (down from 15%)
Provincial Updates
- Alberta: New tax bracket and Alberta Supplementary Tax Credit
- Manitoba: Basic Personal Amount not indexed
- Nova Scotia, PEI, Saskatchewan: Basic Personal Amount changes

How to Use the PDOC Calculator
Step 1: Clear Your Browser Cache
Clear your Internet browser cache and close the browser after completing calculations. Information remains in your session for up to 30 minutes of inactivity.
Step 2: Enter Payment Date Correctly
Ensure you enter the correct payment date, especially for periods after July 1, 2025, to apply the new federal tax rate.
Step 3: Input Employee Information
Enter the employee's gross pay, pay frequency, province of employment, and any additional deductions or benefits.
Step 4: Create Official Statements
Do not use printed calculations as official statements of earnings. Create complete statements following provincial employment standards.
Special Instructions for Quebec Employees
Quebec has its own provincial tax system and pension plan. The federal PDOC cannot calculate Quebec provincial deductions.
For Quebec employees, you must use the WebRAS program from Revenu Québec to calculate:
- Quebec Pension Plan (QPP) contributions
- Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) premiums
- Quebec provincial income tax
